Sweet Grief

This video project began as a personal exploration of storytelling without words. I am a self-confessed word addict, however these pieces delve into elements of human experience that are hard to describe through language. The relationship between internal and external geography is a question that runs through my work, and it is central to this piece.

When I began 'Sweet Grief', I was grieving the loss of a creative friendship, and trying to make sense of my new role in the world as a mother. The piece evolved into a story of transformation: with all life changes come both loss and possibility. In tandem, these pieces celebrate light, and its power, like love, to transform a place and moment.
